Set in the heart of the Eden Valley, the 19th-century Appleby Manor Country House Hotel offers a warm welcome and stunning surroundings. The hotel feature a comfortable restaurant with views of the Eden Valley, offering a warm and elegant ambiance, between 6.30pm and 8.30pm daily. The dress code is smart casual; gentlemen are kindly asked to refrain from wearing shorts. Drinks can be enjoyed on the terrace, with views overlooking the beautifully landscaped gardens.
Each guest room includes a comfortable seating area—somewithin charming bay windows offering views of the gardens and nearby Appleby Castle. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.
The lounge, complete with a traditional real log fire, provides a cosy setting to enjoy a pre-dinner drink or a quiet moment. A full English or Continental breakfast is served daily in the Restaurant, which boasts views stretching across the Lake District fells.
The surrounding area offers excellent opportunities for scenic walks, hill hiking, and fishing. Appleby Rail Station is just a 10-minute walk away, while Appleby Castle and the local golf club can be reached within five minutes by car. Penrith town centre is less than a 20-minute drive from the hotel.
The hotel day starts from hour 15:00 and ends at 11:00.
Daytime dining is available between 12noon - 5pm, and our Bistro and A La Carte options are available between 18:30 - 20:30 in the evening.

Please note that there is a smart casual dress code when fine dining at the hotels 2 AA Rosette Restaurant. Shorts, trainers or mens sandals are not permitted. Alternatively, the Bistro 1871 offers a much more relaxed and informal style of dining.

Standard Double Room. This room is situated in either the coach house annexe which is approx 10 yards from the main house across a gravel courtyard or in the main house. The 1st floor rooms are accessed by a flight of wooden stairs and there is no lift.These rooms are a mixture of doubles and twins and they feature a seating area, flat screen televisions with Freeview, iron & ironing boards, tea & coffee making facilities and hairdryers. They areen suite with a shower over the bath. ;
Twin Room. Coach House: Situated on the ground floor and recently refurbished, the twin room is a 10 yard walk across a gravel courtyard from the main building. These rooms feature a seating area, flat screen televisions with Freeview, iron & ironing boards, tea & coffee making facilities and hairdryers. They areen suite with a shower over the bath. ;
Double Room with Garden View. Situated in the more modern Garden Wing, this room features views of the award-winning gardens. It ison the ground floor with french doors opening onto a shared patio with individual table and chairs. The bathrooms have a walk in rain shower and Elemis Toiletries. The rooms are equipped with Bluetooth radios with iPod docking station, capsule coffee machines, a small bottle of Prosecco, treats, robes and slippers. ;
Deluxe Double Room. Situated either on the 1st floor of the main house or on the 1st floor of the Garden Wing, these rooms are beautifully furnished with a separate seating area in the room. They have a capsule coffee machine as well as traditional tea and coffee. They areen suite, some with a spa bath with a shower over, and some with a walk in shower. ;
Twin Room with Garden View. Situated in the more modern Garden Wing, this room features views of the award-winning gardens.
